Abstract
This paper presents a multipurpose and lowcost laboratory environment for digital design courses with emphasis on the concept of reusable design. Suggested design environment for laboratory consists of a low-cost hardware platform, software tools, and design libraries. Using the proposed design environment it is possible to provide all levels of digital design lab courses from the introductory logic design lab for sophomores to the complex system design courses for the seniors. It was also possible to demonstrate the economical and technical efficiency in operating the classes of digital system design using our proposed design environment.
