Abstract

General conditions of linear birefringence compensation in bianisotropic layered-periodic structures or superlattices at proportional effective tensors of dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability are investigated. Calculations and numerical analysis are carried out in frame of the long wavelength approximation for electromagnetic field. Rather wide range of structure properties are found when the considered effect can take place.
