Abstract
Travel mode choice has been investigated in the last decade by many researchers, (e.g. Diekmann, 1994; Franzen, 1997; Bamberg, & Schmidt 1998, 2003; Davidov, Schmidt, & Bamberg, 2003). What is common to these studies is that they all tried to find a behavioral explanation to clarify why people choose different means of transportation on their way to work or to a variety of other destinations. In general, these studies differ in various aspects, methodological and substantial.
