Abstract

In the previous chapter, the use of pilot systems as a means of assessing user demand was described. But the value of pilot systems ranges much wider and their use should be considered an essential tool for the data communications planner. They can provide a wealth of information and are a healthy insurance against the introduction of poorly designed systems.
