Abstract

All the presently available anti-cancer drugs have some toxic effects in normal tissues, and many of these are potentially lethal. There is, therefore, a special need for care and attention to detail during cancer chemotherapy so that the side-effects of treatment may be minimised, without impairing anti-tumour efficacy.
