Abstract

There are two separate aspects to metabolic control in parasitic helminths. First, there is regulation at the cellular level and, secondly, there is the regulation of metabolic changes that occur during the life-cycle of the parasite. In many ways, these are two rather different processes, although they both involve feedback mechanisms, in the one case allosteric, and in the other environmental and genetic.
