Summary

DNC systems have been known for several years and are applied in industry. Only recently, however, have increased efforts been made in the dynamic analysis of time-related behaviour of these systems. A method of real-time process simulation is presented here, in which the production computer is coupled to a simulation computer. After the objectives and operation of this set-up are described, results of simulation experiments are reproduced and interpreted. Finally there is a summary and indications for the design of DNC systems.
