The Role of Design in the Introduction of a New Machine Tool

  • Chapter

Abstract

During the past two decades, encouraged by conferences such as this, a wealth of information has been produced by universities, other research establishments and industrial research and development departments on the cutting process, on the design and performance of elements of machine tools, on the performance of machine tools and on the application of machine tools as part of a manufacturing system. This has led to a significant improvement in the design, performance and application of machine tools.
