Abstract
The term ‘macro-economics’, introduced by Ragnar Frisch in 1933, applies to the study of relations between broad economic aggregates, as opposed to the decision-taking processes of individuals and firms which is the subject-matter of micro-economics. Even so, the scope of macro-economic theory is very wide, much too wide to be handled at a serious level in one text.
