Magnetic Bubble Domain Dynamics

  • Chapter
Ferromagnetodynamics

Abstract

The magnetic bubble domain was introduced in figure 1.10 as an isolated cylindrical domain passing through a thin layer of magnetic material which has an easy direction of magnetisation perpendicular to its plane. The bubble domain is supported by an externally applied bias field which must lie within a critical range if the bubble is neither to collapse nor to run out into a strip domain.
