Summary

This paper presents the programming system REKONE for computer-aided design of closed-loop-controlled electrical feed drives for NC machine tools. It permits the user (machine tool or drive manufacturer), by means of a problem-orientated free-formated input language, to formulate his input demands for the drive. With the aid of mathematical models for position- and speed-controlled feed drives, which represents the connection between the input variables (command variables and disturbance variables) and the desired output variables, the critical variables for the layout of the drive may be calculated.

The program structure, the necessary input variables, the processing of the program and the selection result are described. A practical example shows that the program represents an aid for the designer, permitting him to make a safe and certain choice of a suitable drive for his particular machine tool.
