Abstract

In machine conception the possible requirements and their effects on the various machine elements are of prime importance. Besides of stresses, occuring in the machine parts, also elastic deformation has to be considered, as it affects the workpiece accuracy.

To calculate the requirements to the machine elements, the finite element method has been well established. Especially the calculation of single elements with known boundary conditions, is possible without difficulties. When calculating a unit such as a shaft with bearing, it must be considered that the boundary conditions between the tangent elements change dependent of load. The entire unit thus behaves non-linear.

Based on the above mentioned non-linear behaviour of machine units it is possible to realistically comprehend the behaviour of the entire unit. The finite element method serves as basis for the calculations. The tangent effects between the machine elements are included in the entire calculation of all machine units by means of a computer programme, especially developed for this purpose.

By means of the example of a double-column eccentric press the behaviour of the machine elements with clearance effect particularly those in the energy flow, is being demonstrated. Besides of the press frame with the driving gear compensed of connecting rod, eccentric wheel and shaft, the relation between ram and sliding guide is investigated.
