Rethinking the Human—Animal Divide in the Anthropocene
Despite environmental political theory’s diversity, it seems fair to say that what distinguishes it from other strains of thought is its concern for nature. Moreover, environmentalism has turned nature into a political category, so that the philosophical reflection about the latter is supposed to produce social changes, that is, it should lead to substantial changes in the way in which nature — or the environment — is handled by human beings, both on the individual and the societal level.
