Class Structures, Ethnic Formations: Malaysia, Hawai’i, Britain

Abstract

This chapter examines the relationship of ethnicity to class structure in a colonial and post-colonial society, in a case of land dispossession and an indigenous people, and in European post-colonial coloniser societies. Malaysia, Hawai’i, and Britain are the principal case studies.
