Abstract

In 1995 the Chilean economy completed twelve years of uninterrupted growth, in which its GDP has doubled. If a 6 per cent annual growth rate is maintained (below the 6.8 per cent average between 1986 and 1994), by the beginning of the next decade the country’s standard of living will reach that of Spain today.
