Abstract
We have drawn attention to the stark contrasts that have existed on the European continent by comparing the communist East, or its legacy, with the capitalist West. In this chapter we shall compare political ideologies and economic systems, which also have a bearing on the question of whether there might be differences between countries in matters of management practice and style below the level of overarching ideologies and systems.
