The Mexican Clusters of Guadalajara and Leon
The aim of this chapter is to present the results of the empirical investigation carried out in two clusters of footwear firms in Mexico: Guadalajara and Leon. Through a sample survey, some interviews with key informers and a few network case studies, the goal of the empirical investigation is to assess if and how the core characteristics of the textbook model correspond to the realities of two clusters of firms in an industrializing country.
