Abstract

In the years immediately following the revolution, the regimes of the Vormärz were set up once more, and the Confederation reconvened at Frankfurt. Spear-heading this was Austria, which, more than any other state, led the resistance to both the forces of revolution as well as Prussia’s now revealed ambitions for political aggrandizement within the Confederation.
