Abstract
The Party’s Policy Review was primarily an electoral strategy geared toward the 1992 General Election. The analysis which has been undertaken here argues that the Review was far more than just an electoral strategy. It was interested in transforming the Labour Party in a far longer perspective than this. Nonetheless, its immediate objective was to help Labour to victory at the General Election initially expected in 1991. It is the Review’s failure in this objective which is the subject of this chapter.
