Summary

Three examples of the way in which one perspective can be related to another are given. First, there is an example of the kind of criticism one perspective is inclined to make of another; then there is an illustration of how one perspective would explain or ‘explain away’ another; and finally there is an example of how one perspective can make a contribution to another.

Before comparing perspectives with each other, there is a short section outlining research on the effectiveness of psychological interventions.
