Abstract
Paraguay entered Mercosur as its most junior partner. Its economy is small and open, and as such quite vulnerable to the external economic environment, including changes in terms of trade, international interest rates and investment flows. Its exports are undiversified by destination and especially by commodity breakdown, and prices are determined internationally.
