Trade and Investment Between Canada and the LAIA Countries

Abstract

This chapter gives a quantitative overview of the economic relations between Canada and Latin America, with analysis restricted to the relatively larger countries of the Western Hemisphere.¹ It is organized as follows. Aggregate trade flows between Canada and the LAIA (Latin American Integration Association) countries are reported and described in the first section. Section 2 looks at the goods traded between Canada and individual LAIA countries. In section 3, Canadian direct investment in Latin America is analysed. Finally, some short concluding remarks are made.
