Abstract

This chapter gives a quantitative overview of the economic relations between Canada and Latin America, with analysis restricted to the relatively larger countries of the Western Hemisphere.1 It is organized as follows. Aggregate trade flows between Canada and the LAIA (Latin American Integration Association) countries are reported and described in the first section. Section 2 looks at the goods traded between Canada and individual LAIA countries. In section 3, Canadian direct investment in Latin America is analysed. Finally, some short concluding remarks are made.
