Abstract

The end of apartheid and of the international isolation of South Africa has already increased the so-far limited interest of the French in this country.1 In actual fact, South Africa is fast becoming a focal point of French foreign policy towards the African continent. However, this new attention in France is still largely irresolute and remains confined to those circles which have direct interests in the country.
