After Liberalisation

  • Chapter
After Liberalisation

Abstract

The rapid shifts that have resulted from liberalisation are transforming the very essence and structure of Europe’s economy. The opening up of the world economy, with the almost universal adoption of the market philosophy, has radically altered the rules by which Europe must now compete. This change is not a one-off event. Nor is it one that will gradually diminish and lose momentum. It is a process that will gather pace and continue to radically refashion Europe for at least another a decade and a half; perhaps even two decades. A process that will fundamentally reshape Europe in the twenty-first century.
