Part of the book series: Breakthrough ((BTH))

Abstract

It is a good idea to listen to each recording several times before going on. Repetition, including reading the answers to written exercises out loud and repeating the oral exercises several times, is the key to successful language learning, because words and structures need to be internalized before you will be able to use them with confidence and at natural speed. This is why courses which promise you a quick fix and rapid results are unlikely to prove effective in the long term. If you do find yourself reaching a plateau, go back and review the earlier material. This not only gives you a boost in confidence (because you will understand it so much more easily) but you will maintain the language you have already learned. Material learned early in the course is just as useful on an everyday basis as is the more difficult language you will learn later on.
