Abstract

We now seem to be in a period of reminiscence, accompanied I suppose, with a dash of nostalgia for lost youth, though not going so far as to wish for a repeat performance of the Second World War. But perhaps at any rate for those of my generation who are fast disappearing, there are some lessons to be learned from our experience before and during the Second World War.
