Some Considerations on Corruption, Politics and Society in Sixteenth and Seventeenth Century Italy

  • Chapter
Political Corruption in Europe and Latin America

Part of the book series: Institute of Latin American Studies Series ((STAM))

Abstract

Research on the history of corruption in sixteenth and seventeenth century Italy is still in its infancy. In spite of the publication of some studies during the last decades, bibliography on the subject remains scattered, fragmentary, and often allusive. A work of synthesis is therefore difficult, and probably premature. Consequently, the ambitions of this chapter have to be strictly limited.
