Abstract

How do you feel? It’s a question that we are often asked, but always find difficult to answer. If you try to describe how you feel when you are angry or afraid or happy, you will probably use descriptions of bodily changes, for example, ‘my legs turned to jelly’ or ‘I felt warm’ or ‘I had butterflies in my stomach’ or ‘my heart went ping’. We experience various bodily changes when we experience emotion, and there is clearly a strong connection between the reactions of our body and our feelings.
