Abstract
This chapter examines the emergence of new unions in India which have organised women workers in the unorganised sector in new and innovative ways. The possibilities and the limitations of these organisations and the women’s movement to develop strategies to transform class and gender relations are discussed and suggestions for joint strategies for future struggle are explored.
