Abstract

The burgeoning growth of interest in business ethics has led to the search for examples of business organisations which combine principles with profits. This chapter examines the case of the British Co-operative Bank which is one of these organisations. However, our concern is not with the Bank’s Ethical Policy (see Appendix 1) itself nor with its impact on the bottom-line. They help to provide the context for the research project which this chapter reports.
