Abstract
In this chapter I wish to examine the emerging field of peace economics with regard to its potential contributions to international security. I shall pursue this examination having in mind in particular (1) the rapid political changes taking place in Central and Eastern Europe and the Asiatic parts of the former Soviet Union, and (2) the economic problems and military activities of developing nations.
