Abstract

As we head for the twenty-first century perhaps the most striking thing a Martian visitor would notice about women in the workplace is that most of them do different jobs from men. As I mentioned near the beginning of Chapter 1 this is a state of affairs that has endured throughout human history, since men first went out hunting and women stayed home to look after the children and perform the domestic chores.
