Abstract

The topics dealt with in this chapter and in the next chapter are concerned with the way organizations treat the people who work for them; the way they go about recruiting a pool of potential staff members, selecting specific individuals for employment and then training and developing these individuals (or not, as the case may be). These topics are often referred to collectively as ‘the use of human resources’, though we will also examine the misuse of human resources.
