Abstract
The success of economic reforms has been characterized by higher growth rates and dramatic improvements in the living standards of the population, particularly the rural population. Structural changes in production and employment are also important for long-term sustainable growth and rural development. However, the growth of different indicators and the structural changes of the economy have been by no means consistent during the reform period as demonstrated by the tables in Chapters 2 and 3.
