Abstract
I began by stating that the aim of this study was to consider the relationship between ‘race’ and class in terms of how these two concepts articulate in the overall structuring of class relations, in a setting typified by the incorporation of a Black minority into a homogeneous White society. Before moving on to consider the articulation of ‘race’ and class as it relates to the structural location of Black labour in the objectively defined middle class (ODMC) an attempt is made to deconstruct the structural position of middle-class Blacks in Britain.
