The Organisation and Scale of Production

  • Chapter
Modern Economics

Abstract

This chapter, too is largely descriptive, but the same type of question should be asked as previously: Why is division of labour not carried further? Why do firms expand? What limits their expansion? Why do some firms remain small? Why do firms combine? How can the state provide ‘external economies’? Again you should illustrate with your own examples.
