Abstract
This book of readings explores the subject of health promotion and its relationship to nursing and reviews research in this area which demonstrates the nature, effectiveness and extent of health promotion in practice. Internationally famous experts in the field are included in the list of more than twenty contributors which spans all areas of nursing, midwifery, health visiting and health education. As such this is the first collection of its kind! Most of the chapters are based on papers given at a very successful international conference, especially selected because of their rigorous research base and depth of understanding.
