Abstract
1879 (1 Jan, Wed) Edward Morgan Forster is born at his parents’ house, 6 Melcombe Place, Dorset Square, London. He is the second child, a previous child having died at birth, of Edward Morgan Llewellyn Forster, a Cambridge graduate and architect (b. 1847), and Alice Clara ‘Lily’, née Whichelo, (b. 1855), who were married on 2 January 1877 at Holy Trinity Church, Clapham Common.
