Abstract

In the previous chapter we looked at how some women have learned to reconceptualise power and to use it in a positive way to empower rather than to dominate and control other people. In this chapter we will look at power from a slightly different angle — how it is used and how it is abused. Because it is so frequently abused, power is often regarded as a dirty word by those who think they do not possess it.
