Abstract

We have seen some of the personal implications of involvement and empowerment. Now we come to the implications for organisations and services. How can they provide opportunities and access for people to have a say? We want to look at eight elements that go towards making this possible. These are:

  • resources

  • information

  • training

  • research and evaluation

  • equal access and opportunities

  • forums and structures for involvement

  • language

  • advocacy
