Abstract

It is a mistake to think that the installation of a CAD/CAM system is just like putting new drawing boards into the Design Department. It does not simply make the department a bit more efficient. It radically alters the way it works, affects the way other departments work with it and offers opportunities for improvement throughout the company. In this chapter we consider the impact of CAD/CAM on the company as a whole. For a fuller treatment of management issues throughout the company see References (28) and (29).
