Abstract
We have seen that Socrates speaks of philosophy as seeking to ‘reach the goal of reality’ and as pursuing ‘pure knowledge’. To reach this goal our souls have to be ‘pure’ and, therefore, need purification. We shall find such purification in the practice of philosophy, in the pursuit of truth.
