Varieties of Design-Build Procurement

  • Chapter
Design-Build Explained

Part of the book series: Macmillan Building and Surveying Series ((BASS))

Abstract

An employer who wishes to use Design-Build for his project must prepare an enquiry in some form or other. This is a simple statement of fact, but deciding upon the content of a Design-Build enquiry is far from simple. The employer (with his advisors, as necessary) must not only make a number of decisions which relate to the form, terms and conditions of the contract, but he must also decide upon the extent of the technical contents of the enquiry.

‘That’s our system, Nickleby. What do you think of it?’
