Abstract

The evaluation of development sites involves several strands of activity which can be time-consuming and expensive. A soil survey could cost a thousand pounds or more, as could a planning report. Ideally the developer wishes to obtain all the relevant information as quickly as possible so that he has a thorough understanding of all aspects of the project on which to take a decision. How he achieves this will depend on the circumstances in which the developer gets to know of the site.
