Abstract

The chapter begins with some clarification of the concept of frequency response as applied to a digital algorithm. This entails an explanation of aliasing, and some words on the computation of the zero frequency gain. With an understanding of these basic ideas the reader is then equipped to consider the problem of designing a digital controller C(z) for the sampled data loop (figure 2.11). The closed loop performance must meet some given specification and it is assumed that an adequate model of the plant G(s) is available.
