Abstract

In the previous chapter the concepts of computer control were briefly introduced and some of the considerations in interfacing and discretisation have been discussed. The next important step is to look at design and analysis methods for sampled data systems. We have seen that signals in the control loop are of a discrete nature, and this fact needs to be taken into account in the analysis. For example, consider a continuous function that is sampled as shown in Figure 2.1.
