Abstract

The purpose of this book has been to describe and discuss School No. 1937, not primarily to sustain an argument about the entire system of education. The portrait must stand on its own. Either it is convincing to the reader, or it is not. In these concluding lines I shall make one or two points which relate to the entire experience of teaching in the School. I intend also to look at what people (including myself) were writing about Soviet schools a few years ago, to see whether we must revise our opinions in view of recent developments.
