Abstract
This chapter focuses on world and frame conflicts. In the first section, after introducing the problem, it is argued that conflicts of this kind require the use of non-conventional analytic tools. The second section addresses the issue of world and frame conflicts in science as an example, showing their wide scope. In the third section the emergence of these conflicts is explained by relating them to needs theory. In the fourth section the main contribution of this chapter to the conflict resolution field is outlined: metaphor dialogue. The fifth section summarizes the whole argument and concludes with the presentation of a pattern of conflict resolution stages.
