Abstract
Since its inception in the mid-1970s there are now currently a number of different microprocessor designs available in several versions. Nearly all the ‘popular’ designs are produced by a few manufacturers and these include such companies as Intel, Motorola, Rockwell, Texas Instruments and Zilog.
