The third source from which data was collected was a sample of staff who had first-hand experience of looking after life-sentence prisoners. The information which is provided here represents the views and comments expressed by a broad range of individuals, from basic grade uniform officers to senior governors, and including probation officers and prison psychologists and psychiatrists.
